California Shine the Light
Residents of the State of California have the right to request information from Renew Home regarding third parties to whom the company has disclosed certain categories of information during the preceding year for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please do so by emailing privacy@renewhome.com or by writing to us at Renew Home, LLC, 2201 Broadway, Suite 702, Oakland, California 94612.
California Consumer Privacy Act
The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) provides California residents with rights to receive certain disclosures regarding the collection, use, and sharing of information about them (referred to as “Personal Information”), as well as rights to know/access, correct, and delete, and limit sharing of Personal Information. You have the right to be free from discrimination based on your exercise of your CCPA rights.
To the extent that we collect Personal Information that is subject to the CCPA, that information, our practices, and your rights are described below.
Notice at Collection Regarding the Categories of Personal Information Collected
You have the right to receive notice of the categories of Personal Information we collect, the purposes for which we use Personal Information, the categories of sources of that information, and whether we disclose such information for a business purpose or sell or share such information. The categories we use below to describe Personal Information are those listed in the CCPA. We collect this Personal Information for the purposes described in the How We Use Your Information section above.
Sensitive Personal Information
This includes personal information that reveals a person’s driver’s license number, social security number, passport number, biometric information, geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, union membership, genetic data, mail, email or message content.

Service providers are restricted from using Personal Information for any purpose that is not related to our engagement.
We determine the retention period for each of the categories of Personal Information listed above based on (1) the length of time we need to retain the information to achieve the business or commercial purpose for which it was obtained, (2) any legal or regulatory requirements applicable to such information, (3) internal operational needs, and (4) any need for the information based on any actual or anticipated investigation or litigation.
Entities to whom we “sell” or with whom we “share” information are third parties. Under the CCPA, a business “sells” Personal Information when it discloses it to a third party for monetary or other benefit and “shares” Personal Information when it discloses it to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising. A recipient of Personal Information may be considered a third party either because the purpose for our sharing the information is not a listed business purpose under California law, or because our contract does not restrict the recipient from using Personal Information for other purposes.

Right to Know, Correct, and Request Access to and Deletion of Personal Information
You have the right to request access to Personal Information collected about you and information regarding the source of that Personal Information, the purposes for which we collect it, and the third parties and service providers with whom we share it. You also have the right to request in certain circumstances that we correct Personal Information that we have obtained about you or delete Personal Information that we have collected directly from you. We will not use Personal Information we collect in connection with verifying or responding to your request for any purpose other than responding to your request.
Notice Regarding Participation in Data Collection or Sharing for Financial Incentives
We run promotions from time to time whereby we incentivize a customer to share certain pieces of information with us or allow us to retain their information; for example, we may offer a free connected device if consumers sign up for our Services. We will always give you clear notice about these programs when you sign up, and participation in these incentives is voluntary and provided on an opt-in basis. If you change your mind, you may opt out at any time by emailing privacy@renewhome.com or write to us at Renew Home, LLC, 2201 Broadway, Suite 702, Oakland, California 94612.
Under California law, our promotions may be considered “financial incentives” provided in exchange for the collection of personal information. We are required to explain how the value you receive from these promotions is reasonably related to the value we receive from the personal information that you provide to us. We use information about your energy usage and usage reductions, capacity for energy reductions, and load modifications to participate in the demand response, load management, energy and capacity markets. The value of your energy conservation depends on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the location, time of day, grid conditions, and total amount of energy saved by you. The value of the benefits that we may provide to each user will be based on factors and conditions established by Renew Home, thereby correlating the benefits you receive with the value to Renew Home from the use of your data.
Special Information for Job Applicants
When you apply for a job with Renew Home, we collect certain information about you as outlined in this Policy. Information may be collected about you in multiple ways: you may provide it to us in connection with your application; we may make observations in the application process or collect information from public information sources; or you may authorize us to collect information from other sources, such as a former employer or reference. In certain circumstances, you may submit your application for employment through a third-party service that displays our job posting. We do not control the privacy practices of such third-party services. Please review their privacy policies carefully prior to submitting your application materials.
Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page indicates when we last revised this Privacy Policy. We may also notify you in other ways from time to time about the collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information described in this Policy. For questions about our privacy practices, please contact us at privacy@RenewHome.com or write to us at Renew Home, LLC, 2201 Broadway, Suite 702, Oakland, California 94612.
